Biography
Brandy is a Licensed Acupuncturist with a Master degree of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM). She is also a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM), which is a practitioner who is certified by the NCCAOM and have met the certification requirements for both acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. Brandy is also a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor.
Her undergraduate work was in the field of Special Education Support Services. She graduated from Lee University in 2003 and immediately started working for the YMCA of Chattanooga, TN. She helped develop and run programs for teens and wrote grants to fund those programs. She then started working at Center for Integrative Medicine in Chattanooga, TN. This is where she started to learn about acupuncture and integrative medicine. With encouragement from the staff and practitioners, she moved to Austin, Tx the summer of '06 to attend AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine to pursue her Masters degree.
After graduation, Brandy had a thriving practice in Durham, NC for three years. She recently moved back to Tennessee to take care of her grandmother and bring the benefits of acupuncture to Cookeville and the surrounding communities. She has had great success in the treatment of anxiety, depression, menstrual disorders, chronic pain, stress, allergies, and fertility.
Brandy is trained in various types of acupuncture, taking particular interest in Master Tung’s points and theories, Dr. Richard Tan’s balance theory, and Mikio Sanke's Esoteric acupuncture. She has a strong belief that the body has the ability to heal itself if we are willing to take the journey. She is excited about being able to serve a community through education, Oriental Medicine, and love.
When she's not spending time with patients, she enjoys spending time with her dog, gardening, exploring Tennessee Parks, practicing Kundalini Yoga, and healing through art.
